On 12 September, De Bonte Wever in Assen will host the Dragon Open – a new martial arts event that brings together athletes, coaches, and referees from across the region. Beside you will find the schedule with key times for weigh-ins, meetings, and the official start of the competition.

Pattern Divisions
To ensure fair and competitive pattern divisions, all competitors are grouped by age class, gender and belt level. Please carefully review the correct division before registration.

Pattern competition format
B/C/D class – Youth, Pre Junior, Junior and Senior
Competitors will perform 1 round with a designated pattern selection format. The competition will follow a single elimination system. For newly promoted competitors, the newly obtained pattern will be excluded.
A class – Youth
Competitors will perform 1 round with designated pattern selection. The tournament will use a single elimination format. Patterns will be selected from the 3 highest patterns of the competitor’s grade.
A class – Pre Junior, Junior and Senior
Competitors will perform 1 round with designated pattern selection. The competition will follow a league system. Patterns will be selected from the 3 highest patterns of the competitor’s grade.
Sparring divisions
To ensure fair and competitive matchups, all sparring divisions are organized by age class, gender, grade class and weight or height category. Please carefully review the correct division before registration.

Sparring competition format
C/D class – Youth
